Leilani - A Design Journey

Our Leilani print was designed in the spring of 2021 to add a smaller scale, “textural” design to our existing collections. This pretty and very versatile design started life as a little oriental style pencil drawn / block motif here in our Dorset design studio. When put into repeat it creates a beautiful zig zag shape in the negative space which is what makes the design unique, soft and oh so pretty.

Once happy with the scale of the design it was printed here in the UK by our excellent printers in lots of different colour ways, the following being released for spring and summer this year, Tarragon, Linden, River Mist, Rothesay Rose, Clear Water, Indian Blue, Bute Blue and Golden Sage.

Three of these colour ways are new and are lovely additions to our range.

Tarragon- a lovely fresh green to bring a touch of the outside into your home.

Clear Water- a soft vintage style blue.

Golden Sage- a gorgeous rich golden taupe which co ordinates so well with natural linen shades.

Already a firm favourite, Leilani which means “heavenly child” is perfect to pull a scheme together for smart Roman blinds, headboards, hand made shades and cushions and it co ordinates perfectly with our existing designs suiting both traditional and contemporary homes.

We chose Leilani Golden Sage for our own Roman blinds here at home as seen in the images and are thrilled with the result, especially contrasted against plain white curtains and the deep teal wall colour. The room is quite dark and is north facing, long and narrow and white linen curtains make the room feel wider and brighter. The starting point for this room was the stunning seascape canvas above the fireplace which we set against Autentico paint in Deep Blue which is actually more teal than blue and is the most fabulous colour to contrast against white.

The golden sage Leilani picks up the sand colour in the canvas along with the other linen and wood shades used elsewhere in the room. The stunning “Edward Heron” cushion co ordinates perfectly and is part of our new “River’s Walk” collection.

New colour ways are already in the pipeline too for this autumn to include striking reds and oranges to add the perfect splash of warmth and colour.

We do hope you like it and will find it useful to add to your schemes.

Best Wishes

Maggie & Vicky xx
